Ryn is an Edmonton-based visual artist and gender-queer** performer with the drag troupe Queer Royale. Although born in Scarborough and raised in Calgary, weeks were spent visiting the forests and waters of Victoria and Qualicum Beach, British Columbia. This influence is clearly visible in Ryn’s artwork, in the many real and imagined landscapes, as well as creatures mythological and existing. Believing that everything created is a greater extension of themselves, Ryn strives to bring unique forms of expression into being wherever possible, as well as influencing others towards creativity of all shapes and sizes. Ryn is currently living in Edmonton, Alberta with a chinchilla named Meeka.
*Gender-queer is a term for those individuals who fall outside the ‘normal’ gender binary. Although the pronoun preference varies from person to person, in this case, Ryn would prefer that you use the pronouns ‘they/them/theirs/etc’. Thank you. ❤
